How Do Beverages With Caffeine Affect Your SMA?
I honestly think I am immune from the effects of caffeine. I can literally fall asleep with a straw in my mouth after drinking half a mug of coffee ...but I started with coffee when I was very young . I do however try to avoid sodas and artificial sweeteners. It might just be me, but artificial sweeteners give me an instant migraine. Something about sodas tends to make aspirating food when I eat more common ... so if I eat and drink a soda, I try to eat very slowly to make sure I don't have a coughing fit. Caffeine ...without it I get migraines as well...but otherwise not notice any effects.
sma has a side affect for many or us, anxiety..Caffeine can heighten anxiety, so if feeling anxious then tone down on the caffeine. Avoid all soda's, they are all horribly bad for 'everyone'...I'm with John, though they don't have Dr. Pepper in county I know live, when back in US I do indulge in a root beer and dr. pepper...
Also why do you ask? Do you think caffeine is making things better or worse for you?
I used to drink Diet Coke and Dr. Pepper all the time for about 30 years. I might have a Dr Pepper once every 2 months. I no longer drink Diet Coke and I don't drink coffee. Honestly, I think it would be best to ask one of your doctors. Or maybe all of them get different opinions and answers. I hope this helps you, John
