Transfer To Shower Chair
Hi everyone. I have an urgent but somewhat embarrassing question to ask everyone For quite some time I have been desperately looking for attendant care. Currently my night attendant who has another client has been filling in for some time. My agency thinks they may have possibly found someone, but they are only willing to lift me with a hoyer lift. Not sure if helpful but the sliding shower chair is what I've used for years, my bathroom allows them to put shower chair next to toilet (height adjustable) for easier transfer to shower chair then it slides under shower head. They sell them ebay/Amazon. Also they have with potty bowl.
Hygiene is so important for our mental health. Shower on!
Try a hygiene sling!! Much easier to get in and out!
Wheelchairs lack a very important feature found on scooters, the tiller. For transfers I use a belt strap and use the tiller as support when doing a slide transfer. I have not needed a hoist. When transferring back to scooter chair or bed for example we place a plastic bag to smooth the transition. I realize not everyone is capable to drive a scooter but the problem to solve is not having anything in front of us when transferring when using wheelchair.
