So...8 monthes ago, my routine was my attendant would get me up out of bed in the morning, i would gobble down a piece of toast, take my vitamins and gulp down a cup of coffee. My attendant would put me to the bathroom in a rolling shower toilet chair. I would usually take like an hour because of stomach issues. Then be rolled in to the roll-in shower, get washed, brush teeth, get hair done before going back over toilet. Then picked up and placed on dressing bed for putting on catheder, clothing, etc. Transferred to wheelchair and straighted up so can sit in chair without pain. Then attendant would set out lunch or whatever needed to do projects for day depending on time as i had 3 and half hours alloted but really needed 4.
The last 8 monthes however since my morning attendant left, my routine has changed significantly. Dad who is 85 with sore wrist from falling and a bad knee has to pick me up to put me in chair in morning. We tried hoyier, but i am a bit too small and fall through it and never figured how to use it to go from laying position to seated...it is easier to just lift me. If dad succeeds in getting me into chair without dropping me on my head, i have 10 minutes to drink down scalding hot coffee and take my pills. At that point hopefully my night attendant arrives on his way to his morning client. We have exactly 1 hour for me to go to the bathroom, washed, dressed, in chair. Forget hair some days. Dad then sometimes leaves me breakfast which i ususlly dont eat due to fear of stomach ache.

I do some morning arm exercises before I get out of the bed. My mom helps me out of bed with my sure-hands. She then helps me get a shower, then I shave and brush my teeth. She then helps me get dressed and I do some more arm exercises on my under the desk exercise bike and talk to my Cockatiel because his cage is next to the bike and he loves to whistle and talk to me when I use it. I check email!
