What Unexpected Positives Have Come From Your Experience With SMA?
I grew up watching McGuiver...the original good one. My disability forced me to find new ways to do things. Just like McGuiver, I cant tell you the number of times a paperclip rescued me when i dropped something and no one was around to pick it up. Ultimately i think it altered my entire perspecrive of how i saw things and the world in general. It is not like a superpower i would see as an equal trade off...but in some respects it probably made me a better more creative person. Even more importantly i think it helped make me a more accepting person of peoples own uniqueness and see their special spark.
Having SMA has taught me how strong I really am. It has also shown me that most people are kind. I found this out when total strangers rushed to help me up whenever I fell down in the street. The kindness of strangers often brought tears to my eyes.
